A St. Patrick’s Day Reader’s Theater for Middle School

Mrs. Beers Language Arts Classroom

My middle school ELA blog featuring student engagement strategies, classroom ideas, and lesson plans for language arts teachers.

St. Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday that even my older students love to participate in. For teachers, this gives us a chance to boost engagement by adding a little green to our ELA classroom instruction.

A few years ago I published my St. Patrick’s Day reader’s theater mystery. As always, I find inspiration for these scripts from my students. The daily occurrences in a school building are plentiful for sure. I have always found recess and the lunch room to be central settings for the greatest amount of drama content for my writing. So recess and the lunchroom on St. Patrick’s Day is right where this script takes place.

This 20-page Fun Pack includes:

Your students will love working on their fluency and comprehension with this high-interest, realistic fiction mystery. They will also learn that sometimes we can learn a great deal by making mistakes. A must have for this green holiday!
